Run around Wembley

In between the wedding madness last week, there was 1 day off from any type of wedding activity. Considering my insane consumption of fried foods (it was so worth it!) and my derailed marathon training plan, I grabbed my trainers and went for a run. If you're on Strava, give me a follow!
As I don't live in Wembley I had no idea where to run. I had a quick look at the website Map My Run for some route inspiration. I would recommend this site to anyone in need of a route, it's brilliant. You can plan how long, how far and it is all on a map so there's no chance of getting lost. I was supposed to be doing my "run for an hour thing" so I fiddled for a bit and then set off.

Wembley is damn hilly! I ran for around 8 mins before I needed a quick break. It was unusually warm and I happened to be really close to my great uncle and aunts house -seriously. I paused my Garmin and popped in for a quick hello and glass of water. Of course being an Indian aunty it wasn't two seconds before she was opening the cupboards offering me sandwiches, snacks and chocolate!

I left there and continued on finally coming to Wembley Stadium. It was amazing to run around there. It was steep and so windy but so thoroughly enjoyable. I felt so epic, you know those moments when you're digging deep and in your head you hear Steve Cram shouting "and here's Aneesha Patel for the gold!" - it was one of those moments!

I ran my second half quicker than the first so it ended up being a 50min run but I was spent. I got back to my granddads and into the garden and did a few burpees and squats to make up the 10mins.

To top it all off....
