Cycling Essentials

I'm learning to enjoy being out on my bike. When I don't think about being run over and dying, it's quite nice actually. Especially if I'm cycling in the sun! I've found a few bits that I can't live without so I thought I'd share a few of my essentials!

Chamois Cream
Literally essential! I wrote a whole blog post on how amazing this cream is and how much I adore it!

I bought these from Wiggle last summer when I saw a bit of sun appearing. I wanted Oakleys but considering the cost of them and what a fair weather cyclist I am, I couldn't really justify the price. These DHB ones are pretty decent. Although the ones I bought are no longer available, DHB have a whole range of similar options. As well as the sun, they keep the bits of random dirt you find flying towards out of your eyes and don't look too shabby either.

Always always always take out a little bit of cash with you. It could be for cake and coffee, to give a fellow cyclist who saves your ass with a spare inner tube or for a taxi/train/bus home. One to never leave the house without!

A little SPF 40 on my nose and I'm good to go. You'd be surprised at how strong the sun can be and being out for 4 or 5 hours at a time with the sun blaring down, a little suncream is so important. This Clinique cream is lightweight and absorbing and very economical- a little goes a long way.

So probably one of the pricest lip balms I've bought (£12 for 15ml) but I am obsessed. Lanolin rich, this stuff is the most moisturising lip balm I've come across. It stays on when the wind is in full force and you only need the tiniest amount for full coverage. My lips feel so smooth and soft, I can't recommend this one enough!
