Broken wrist.

I fell off my bike and have broken my wrist, It's all over. I wish people would stop telling me to stop crying or to see the positive. There's isn't any. I'm beyond heartbroken and devastation. 9 months of training; of early starts and after work, of not seeing my friends, not drinking, clean eating, nearly £1500- down the drain, I won't be posting for a while, just need some time alone.

Ironman 70.3 FAQ

As the big day gets closer, lots of my friends and family have been asking me lots of questions about the race and the event itself. I thought it might be interesting to anyone thinking of doing a half Ironman or indeed any other supporters. They don't seem like an important part of the process but they're mightier than they credit for! Most runners take a lot of time and spend a lot of money picking the perfect shoe but they often overlook the sock. But why?! It's the friction and heat that causes blisters and those can be solved with the right sock.


Staffs Bike Recce



What did I do last weekend? I went up to Staffordshire and rode the IM 70.3 bike route! I thought going up there (as I've never been) and see where I'll be swimming, try the bike route and get a general feel for the area.

The First Triathlon


I remember my first triathlon in 2013. I was so nervous about everything; what do I wear, is my bike the right kind of bike, do I wear a bra as well for the run and that was not forgetting the actual swim, bike, run!

Well here are a few bits of kit that should help banish some of those nerves and keep you focused on the race ahead. I wish I'd had someone to tell me these things but you feel your way around and no matter what, you're never the most daft looking person there!

I've always been a Brooks girl. Since I got a gait analysis done and found that my naff technique was impacting my knees, I've always gone for Brooks trainers. They support my feet, counter act my weird balance issues and look pretty decent.

Round Up: April



Okay so April must have been around 2 weeks long because it has flown by! Lots of training this month but also lots of rain (and snow??) so haven't been out as much as I should have. I've been following a bit more a swim plan so I feel like my swim is getting stronger and faster and the bike is actually coming on too! Hooray!
